“How Policeman Killed My Pregnant Wife On Christmas Day” - Gbenga Raheem Gbenga Raheem, the husband of a female lawyer, Omobolanle, who was shot dead by an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Drambi Vandi, has narrated how his wife was killed. Recall that Omobolanle was coming from an eatery with some family members on Christmas Day and had tried to make a U-turn under the Ajah Bridge when the cop shot at her vehicle. The bullet was said to have hit the 41-year-old as she was rushed to a hospital, where she was confirmed dead. The woman, who had a child, was seven-month pregnant when tragedy struck.   An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday, ordered the remand of one Rildwan Lawal, 30, who is facing a charge of armed robbery, at the Federal Correctional Centre, Ibadan. The defendant, whose residential address was not provided, is standing trial on two counts of alleged conspiracy and armed robbery. The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, who did not take the defendant’s plea for lack of jurisdiction, ordered his remand at the correctional facility. Amole-Ajimoti directed the Police Prosecutor to send the duplicate case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. She adjourned the case until August 26 for mention.   Six suspected armed robbers, comprising five men and one female, have been arrested by operatives of the Oyo State Police Command. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr Adewale Osifeso, a Superintendent of Police (SP), made this known to journalists in Ibadan, the state capital, via a press release on Monday.
