Yinka Ayefele Floats Another Radio Station, Blast FM in Ibadan

  Ibadan-based Tungba Crooner and Mediapreneur, Dr Yinka Ayefele MON, has launched a new radio station, Blast 98.3 FM, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. Blast FM has since two weeks ago commenced test transmission of programmes to listeners, within and outside the state. This is another feather to the already decorated cap of the reverred broadcaster, who owns Fresh FM. Reports have it that the station, Blast FM Ibadan will operate as an urban contemporary station and not to project the ideology of any political party, but to inform, entertain and educate its listeners. A source working with the station revealed that the station boasts of modern digital equipment, in line with the broadcasting trends of the 21st Century. Meanwhile, Ayefele’s radio stations now include; Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan, Fresh FM 107.9 Abeokuta, Fresh FM 104.9 Osogbo, Fresh FM Ado-ekiti, Fresh FM 102.9 Akure, Fresh FM 105.3 Lagos and Blast FM Ibadan. UPDATE: How Armed Robbers Attacked Fresh FM Ibadan Staff on Duty, Made Away With Valuables Worth Millions of Naira

 According to the Sunday Tribune Newspaper, the suspected robbers who arrived at the station on motorbikes otherwise known as okada, beat the internal security arrangement of the radio station as they were reportedly mistaken for visitors to the station, while proceeding to ransack all the departments and made away with valuable items. Reports have it that some of the broadcasters and other staff on duty were caught napping, as the suspected robbers brandished guns and other dangerous weapons while gaining entrance into different offiices. The suspected robbers, at the end of the raid which lasted for some minutes, made away with mobile handsets, laptops and other valuables. Confirming the incident in a live programme, ‘Agbo Oselu’, meaning Political Panorama, the Director of Programmes, Alhaji Abolade Salami said the armed robbers have attacked the radio station and made away with valuables including mobile handsets and laptops. Oyo Police Arrests Man for Raping 13-Year-Old Girl In Ibadan, Wiping Her Private P@rt With White Handkerchief

  The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old suspect, Ojo Adeagbo, for allegedly raping his friend’s 13-year-old sister in Ibadan, Oyo state capital. According to reports, the suspect who lives with the victim’s family in Olodo area of Ibadan, had carnal knowledge of the girl, several times for over seven months. Ojo was said to be a friend to the victim’s older brother and had been staying with the victim’s family, for over two years. Narrating her ordeal, the teenager said Ojo had invited her to get something for him but on rising to the call, gagged her mouth and pounced on her. She added that Ojo eventually turned her into a sex slave and had been sexually assaulting her for the past seven months. She however added that Ojo was in the habit of wiping her private part with a new handkerchief, any time he had carnal knowledge of her. PREGNANT WOMAN KILLED HUSBAND IN IBADAN

  Pregnant woman stabs her husband to death in Ibadan for planning to marry second wife Men of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a pregnant woman identified as Omowunmi Joseph for allegedly killing her husband in Ibadan, the state capital. The incident occurred on Monday April 4 at Odoye, Alaadorin area of Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state. According to Daily Trust, Omowunmi stabbed her husband, Joseph Nwankwo, to death while he was asleep at about 2am over plans to marry a second wife. The couple reportedly started having misunderstandings about two weeks ago when the deceased told his wife that he was planning to marry another woman from his hometown. After killing her husband, Omowunmi reportedly turned herself into the police at Iyaganku and was taken to Yemetu police division. Meanwhile, her husband’s corpses has been deposited in a mortuary.
